A close up on our Narnia Vignette!
Christmas is approaching and our first seasonal shop display is up! We decided to go for a Winter Wonderland / Narnia theme for our first this year and we love it!
The Michael Miller Woodland Winter collection was the obvious fabric choice here, it is so pretty! The trees are in Trees and Birds in Winter Grey, Winter Birds and Berries in Snowdrop Grey, and Flurry – Black Spot (by Susan Driscoll for Dashwood Studio).
The sweet appliqué birds and the binding are Essex Yarn Dyed Metallic – Copper. I just love how it sparkles and gives it a real festive Christmas feel!
The border is Architextures – Crosshatch in Charcoal by Carolyn Friedlander. With advice from our teachers Charlotte and Jenny, I decided on diagonal lines quilting on the Kona Cotton Solids – White background.
Our Snow Queen is wearing the Mimosa poncho from I Am Patterns, a pattern company that we will be stocking very soon! Yes that is the red Colette Myrtle dress from our Valentines Day vignette you can spot underneath!
Fabric is Wool – Chanel Tweed in Dove Grey and Cream and is so super cosy for chilly winter days.
I especially love the big cowl neck and welt pockets.
This pattern is perfect for sewists of all levels with different options depending on your experience.
The hem is bound with some Ivory Bias Binding for an elegant finish and some winter berries finish off her outfit just lovely!
Guys! It is snowing in our store! I had such fun making these snowy pom poms with some yarn from my stash using the Large Clover PomPom maker!
Our forest floor is littered with some winter berries, acorns, mushrooms, twigs and snow! The snowy floor is Poly/Spandex/Lurex Jersey – White.
The Snow Queen has also brought along a box of Turkish Delight to tempt you into our store!
We hope you enjoyed reading about our Narnia vignette as much as we enjoyed creating it. Keep an eye out for more Christmas themed displays coming soon!
