Chicopee, Field Study, Bella and more in the Coming Soon section!
Have you seen our Coming Soon section lately? I’ve been working hard to upload fabric orders and I recently added a few collections I know you’ll all be really excited about!
First up, Chicopee and Chicopee Corduroy! Vibrant hues and patterns evocative of 1970’s Americana are the hallmarks of Denyse Schmidt’s newest collection for FreeSpirit Fabrics. Chicopee is inspired by Denyse’s school years in Central Massachusetts and prodigious amounts of television. Favourite shows – which influenced her formative fashion sense – include The Brady Bunch, Mary Tyler Moore, The Partridge Family and re-runs of The Monkees. I’m seriously obsessed with the colours in this collection. Fuchsia, lime, black! Yay!
I’m also so giddy about Field Study by Anna Maria Horner. At first glance, this collection looks extremely eclectic, but Anna Maria designed every print with “a sense of adventure and the idea of investigating the world up close and from afar.” Readers of her blog will know there are also personal stories behind some of the prints – the Sinister Swarm moth print is inspired by an ugly moth infestation in her home last year! This collection will be printed on additional substrates in coming months, although those designs haven’t been released yet. Keeps us on our toes!
Fans of Lotta Jansdotter will no doubt already be coveting her next collection, Bella. This simple, bold designs are inspired by Lotta’s Scandinavian background. I love the colours in this collection even more than Echo – the grey, yellow, blue, teal and orange are so fresh and modern. You can see some of these fabulous prints being chopped up into an amazing quilt over at Very Kerry Berry!
So pop over to the Coming Soon section for a browse and set up email alerts for your favourite prints so you know exactly when they come in stock. And check back often, I’m adding things all the time!
