Knitting Workshop for Beginners and Improvers with Natalie Selles – Monday, 11 May, 7pm – 9pm
This class is for total beginners, knitters who haven’t picked up their needles in years and want a refresher or students who want to learn or improve a knitting technique. In this monthly class we will tailor knitting instruction to your specific skills and goals so you can tackle a new project or just get started with your new favourite hobby! Star Block of the Month with Charlotte Newland – Monday, 11 May, 6:30pm – 9:30pm
Each month Charlotte is teaching a new block as part of our 2015 Star Block of the Month! Take one class or take them all – each block is a version of a star and together the blocks make up a 64″ x 82″ quilt top! The block we will learn in May is the Amish star. Learn to Knit a Hat with Natalie Selles – Thursdays, 7 and 14 May, 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Introduction to Free Motion Quilting with Trudi Wood – Saturday, 9 May, 10am – 4pm
Join experienced Free Motion Quilter Trudi Wood in a hands on class to learn (or build on your) free motion quilting skills. Focussing on technique, this class will show you how to set yourself up for success by sharing tips and simple designs which will enable you to finish a project without unpicking or throwing it out of the window! Want to tackle a new quilt pattern and don’t know where to start? Want help perfecting your basting technique? Or just want to quilt in a social setting and pick up a few tips along the way? Quilted and Bound Cushion with Judith Dahmen – Saturday, 16 May, 10am – 4pm
In this class you’ll learn the steps to making a patchwork quilt by sewing a quilted cushion! Participants will learn how to use a rotary cutter, how to machine piece patchwork pieces together using a ¼ inch foot on a sewing machine, how to machine quilt the front of the cushion, how to sew a zip and finally how to attach binding. Learn to Sew with Elisalex de Castro Peake – Wednesday, 21 May, 6:30pm – 9:30pm
This class will introduce novice stitchers – or those who need a refresher – to the basics of sewing, from threading the machine to stitching curves and corners. After getting to grips with the sewing machine, we will make a gorgeous 1950s inspired bow belt for you to take home. Taught by By Hand London Co-Founder Elisalex de Castro Peake, this lovely project was designed by Tilly Walnes for her blog, Tilly and the Buttons, and her book, Love at First Stitch. Introduction to Lingerie Sewing: Sew Your Own Knickers with Laura Stanford – Saturday, 23 May, 10am – 1pm
Learn how to sew the knickers of your dreams in this special class with Laura Stanford, co-author of ‘The Secrets of Sewing Lingerie’. Students can choose to make either the ‘Pretty as a Picnic’ woven mini knickers or the tie-side ‘Love & Abandon’ knickers from Laura’s book and will learn how to sew with lightweight fabrics, use lingerie elastic and embellish with ribbons and lace. Learn to Crochet with Elisalex de Castro Peake – Wednesday, 27 May, 6:30pm – 9:30pm
Learn the addictive art of crochet with the guidance of our experienced instructor! and it is suitable for beginners or students who want to brush up on their skills. For beginners, the project this month will be a chunky granny square blanket. More experienced students are welcome to bring a project they’d like help on. Improvisational Patchwork with Charlotte Newland – Saturday, 30 May, 10am – 4pm
In this exciting class you’ll learn improvisational concepts and techniques that will change the way you think about colour, patchwork and your own creativity! First you’ll break out of your comfort zone and learn to embrace random, improvisational piecing. Then you’ll learn free cutting and piecing techniques, including improvisational curves and slash and insert methods. After School Knitting Club with Carol Beckley – Wednesdays, 4:30pm – 5:30pm
In this class children will learn to read basic patterns and be encouraged to explore the world of knitting. Our patient tutor will show you the basics of knitting, including how to cast on/off and the essential knit and purl stitches. Start with some finger knitting and once comfortable with the needles you will have the opportunity to make simple projects like key rings, felted bracelets and small toys. After School Sewing Club with Caroline Garcia – Thursdays, 4:30pm – 5:30pm
This class is designed to introduce children to the fun and excitement of sewing!
