Habitat sofa cushions

Jay McCaroll’s Habitat collection is brilliant. The prints are so modern and exciting. When we moved into our new place and acquired our previous landlord’s royal/navy blue¬†sofabed I thought Habitat would be perfect for the sofa cushions. I picked out the fabrics below from the collection – the first three for cushions and the last for a dress.

I used the “Put a Zipper in Your Pillow” tutorial by Erin from House on Hill Road for these pillows. The tutorial was easy to follow and I was really pleased with the results. The only thing I would change is the make the zipper-cover-flap face down rather than up. But I thought and thought about how to do that and I just couldn’t figure it out!

I made six cusions all together:

And here they are in the corner of our front room. We bought purple lamps from Habitat (coincidence!) that match nicely.

P.S. I really want to call these pillows, but Ed says that in England you call pillows on your sofa cushions, not pillows. Only rectangular pillows that go on your bed are called pillows. Ahhh, I’ll never learn!
