Improvised mug rugs

Ed’s constantly after me not to set my drinks on the arms of our sofas. It’s so tempting because they have big flat arms. So instead of always grabbing a book or piece of paper, I finally managed to sew up something fun to put our mugs on. Mug rugs!

This is my first stab at improvisational piecing – basically I just used up some scraps I had leftover from my Habitat sofa cushions. They’re essentially mini quilts. It was a pretty quick project and I love the result.
