Inside the lookbook for Euclid by Carolyn Friedlander
Euclid is the special new six-piece collection by Carolyn Friedlander overprinted on to Robert Kaufman Essex – a dreamy linen/cotton-blend that is perfect for any task at hand–from garments, to bags and accessories, to quilts. Some of these fabrics are already going fast, and we’ve got them reordered so you can team with the next full collection from Carolyn coming later this year – Friedlander.
In creating Euclid, Carolyn considered how each design and colour could satisfy projects in a wide range of genres and pair well with other fabrics. The result is a hardworking collection or prints with colour pairings that are both beautiful on their own or in supporting roles.
Carolyn produced a lookbook for Euclid that is filled with so much inspiration and gorgeous photography! We thought we’d dive in and share some of our favourite projects from the lookbook with you. We’ve included links to patterns and blog posts on Carolyn’s blog for more information.
Carolyn’s quilts are unmistakable and incredibly beautiful, usually with lots of lovely handwork involved.
The Essex cotton/linen substrate is ideal for totes, pouches and other accessories that require fabric that is a bit more substantial.
Carolyn also made some really lovely garments with Euclid! My personal faves are the Moss Skirt and Quilted Vest.
Roberts Collection Dungaree Dress (pattern: Marilla Walker)
Archer Popover (pattern: Grainline)
Tamarack Jacket (pattern: Grainline)
Quilted vest (pattern: Purl Soho)
Moss Skirt (pattern Grainline)
Plus, Carolyn made some lovely little extra things…the napkins have my heart!
