Sew a Kalle Shirt or Shirtdress with Rachel Pinheiro
Saturday, 3 June and Sunday, 4 June, 11am – 5pm (£165)
With a loose, body skimming silhouette, the Kalle Shirt and Shirtdress from Closet Case Patterns is the ultimate in chic, easy dressing. In this fun two-day class you’ll learn loads of new construction techniques, from from collars and shirt pockets to button plackets and buttonholes and more! World Wide Knit in Public Day
Saturday, 10 June, 11am – 2pm (Free)
We’re teaming up with Yarn in the City (the awesome ladies who bring you the Great London Yarn Crawl, among other fabulous events) to host a World Wide Knit in Public Day (WWKIPDAY) event on West Hampstead Square! WWKIPDAY is unique in that it’s the largest knitter run event in the world. Each local event is put together by a volunteer or a group of volunteers and there were 1015 events last year in 57 countries. So save the date, start planning a knitting project that travels well and tell your friends. We can’t wait to take over West Hampstead Square with you! The idea of sewing jeans can be intimidating for even the most experienced dressmakers, but in this class our talented teacher will guide you through every step, from trouser-fitting to inserting a zip-fly to top-stitching to installing jeans hardware. The Ginger Jeans pattern from Closet Case Files is a classic 5-pocket jeans sewing pattern with a modern and flattering cut designed for stretch denim. Cross Stitch for Beginners with Kym Armstrong
Wednesday, 14 June, 6:30pm – 9pm (£35)
Cross stitch is portable, relaxing and seriously addictive! This one-evening class will cover the cross stitch basics from tools to techniques while you stitch a modern cross stitch design to take home! You’ll learn how to work with embroidery floss and the various types of cross stitch fabric, how to get started by anchoring your thread and reading a stitch chart, how to follow a pattern including basic stitches, working rows and changing colours and how to finish your work to display it at home. Introduction to Foundation Paper Piecing with Jenny Haynes

This one-evening course is an introduction into the mystery called Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP)! This technique is used to piece precise shapes by sewing your fabric onto a printed paper template which is removed when your block is completed. In this class your teacher Jenny Haynes of Papper, Sax, Sten will talk you through how to make her curved FPP boulders and give you the knowledge and confidence to explore other FPP patterns and maybe even design your very own FPP pattern! Machine Pieced Curves: River Quilt with Jenny Haynes

Conquer curved piecing and learn to machine-sew beautiful curves in this exciting class! Our teacher, Jenny Haynes of Papper, Sax, Sten, will teach you how to cut, sew and press curves and create a curvy River Quilt by using her no-pin technique and custom Drunkards Path templates. Make a cushion with great graphics and gentle curves! In this workshop, Jenny Haynes of Papper, Sax, Sten will cover all the elements of piecing a Kels O’Sullivan block and sewing a cushion. Embroidery for Beginners with Carina Envoldsen-Harris

The class is a fun and colourful introduction to hand embroidery that is designed for beginners or those who want a refresher. You will start by learning the tools of the craft, how to use a hoop and how to transfer a pattern. Next, we’ll explore a selection of stitches – running stitch, back stitch, stem stitch, French knots and more – by creating a sweet modern sampler designed by Carina. Dressmaking 101 with Charlotte Newland

Would you love to make clothes but find patterns impossible to understand? This one-day class will demystify the dressmaking process, using the Zinnia pattern to make a beautiful skirt in the fabric of your choice. You will learn standard sewing terms and techniques that you can apply to other patterns and gain the confidence to sew your own clothes. Watercolour Brush Lettering Workshop with Emma Block
Tuesday, 27 June, 6:30pm – 9pm (£60)
Taught by illustrator Emma Block, this contemporary brush lettering workshop will focus on developing skills and learning techniques allowing you to grow in confidence and start to develop your own brush lettering style. We’ll start with exercises to practice making shapes, creating lines of different thicknesses and using different brushstrokes. You’ll then practice writing the alphabet, words and phrases with plenty of help and guidance on hand.
