Learn something new! Open classes in West Hampstead the week of 10 March 2014
Right – somehow it’s Thursday and I just realised I didn’t do this post! We have a busy week of sewing and knitting classes in our West Hampstead shop, and here are the classes in which you can still grab a spot!
Tonight, we had one last minute cancellation so a spot has opened up in our Introduction to Foundation Piecing class with Charlotte Newland. If you can be here by 6:30 – let us know! Otherwise, the next time we’ll be running this class is 8 May.
Foundation piecing is an addictive patchwork technique that enables you to sew intricate shapes accurately and achieve precise points perfectly! In this class our experienced instructor will guide you through the process of creating two different quilt blocks using foundation piecing. You’ll leave with the know-how to tackle any foundation piecing pattern and two beautiful finished blocks that you’ll be able to turn into cushions, tote bags or the basis for an entire quilt. Sign up here.
On Saturday morning, join us for Introduction to Hand Embroidery for Quilters with Patricia Herbig!
Hand embroidery is a beautiful way to personalise your quilts! You can embroider the name of the quilt’s recipient or a special message to a new baby, embroider designs onto plain fabric and use it in your patchwork or embellish your patterned fabric with hand-stitched details. In this class you’ll be introduced to basic embroidery stitches and techniques and you’ll leave with lots of inspiration for adding hand embroidery to your next quilt! Sign up here.
And for kids, we have one spot left in our Intermediate Machine Sewing: Tote Bag with Charlotte Newland on Sunday morning.
This class is aimed at students who have mastered sewing basics and want to tackle a more complex project. Under the guidance of our experienced instructor, students will sew a tote bag in the fabric of their choice whilst learning how to box corners, sew a lining and attach bag handles. Sign up here.
Our shop is located at 47 Mill Lane, West Hampstead, London NW6 1NB.
