Special Free Event: Demystifying Sewing Patterns with Rachel Pinheiro
One evening: Tuesday, 21 October, 7pm – 9pm
Wishing to sew garments but don’t know where to start or confused when reading a sewing pattern? This talk is for you. We will navigate and decipher a wide range of different sewing pattern covers from vintage, main stream and indie designers. Introduction to Free Motion Quilting with Trudie Wood – £80
One day: Saturday, 25 October, 10am – 4pm
Join experienced Free Motion Quilter Trudi Wood in a hands on class to learn (or build on your) free motion quilting skills. Focussing on technique, this class will show you how to set yourself up for success by sharing tips and simple designs which will enable you to finish a project without unpicking or throwing it out of the window! Introduction to Lace Knitting with Monica Russel – £55
Two evenings: Tuesdays, 28 October and 4 November, 6:30pm – 8:30pm
In this class you’ll learn the fundamentals of lace knitting whilst knitting a beautiful lace scarf! We’ll cover how to read a lace knitting pattern and make sense of symbols and charts and you’ll learn the essential techniques of lace knitting, from slipping stitches to different forms of increases and decreases. You’ll be able to choose from several patterns for your project. Our teacher is the author of several books and the scarf featured in the picture is one of her own designs. Learn to Crochet with Elisalex de Castro Peake– £25
One evening: Wednesday, 29 October, 7pm – 9pm
Take part in our monthly crochet workshop to refresh your skills, learn a new technique or tackle a complex project with the guidance of our experienced instructor! Sew a Men’s Tie with Marilyn Lewin – £45
One evening: Thursday, 30 October, 6:30m – 9:30pm

Sew a Traveler Shirt Dress with Zoe Edwards – £125
Two days: Saturday, 1 November and Sunday, 2 November, 11am-4pm
Join us over one weekend and you will leave with a beautiful Traveler dress made exactly for you, by you! In this class you’ll learn how to set sleeves, insert a collar, sew patch pockets, create buttonholes and more! This is a great pattern for students who have completed a garment or two and want to learn new techniques. The Traveler Dress pattern, by Lisette, incorporates a contemporary twist on the classic shirtwaist dress to produce a flattering and stylish dress, which is perfect for any season. As always, our free knitting night takes place every Thursday evening from 6:30pm-9pm and is open to everyone! We’ll provide tea, wine and biscuits – all you’ll need is to bring along your project!
If you can’t make it to any of our classes but you’re itching to start a new project, our sewing studio can be rented at £8 per person per hour. This includes the use of a sewing machine and our overlocker, all of our sewing tools and full access to the biscuit tin! Call or email us to book.
