Learn to quilt in one of our upcoming classes!
We have two brilliant classes planned this month for aspiring quilters! If you want to learn to make a patchwork quilt, these classes are perfect. They are both designed to teach you all of the skills you need to complete a quilt on a small project that you’ll be able to complete in class time!
Our Quilted and Bound Cushion class was a huge success the first time we ran it. The next class is on Saturday, 22nd June, 10am – 4pm. In this class you’ll learn the steps to making a patchwork quilt by sewing a quilted cushion! Participants will learn how to use a rotary cutter, how to machine piece patchwork pieces together using a ¼ inch foot on a sewing machine, how to machine quilt the front of the cushion, how to sew a zip and finally how to attach binding. In short almost everything required to start making quilts!
We’re also introducing a new class, Make a Baby Quilt, which will take place over three evenings, Wednesdays, 19 and 26 June and 3 July, 6:30 – 9:30pm. A baby quilt is a wonderful way to welcome a little one into the world and is the perfect size for learning to quilt! In this class you will learn all the techniques that are required to make a quilt starting from the design process to piecing, machine or hand quilting and finishing with the all important binding that gives the quilt its frame. At the end of the course, you’ll leave with a gorgeous finished baby or mini quilt measuring 36″ by 40″.
Both classes are taught by the talented quilter Judith Dahmen. You can read more about Judith in our Meet our Teacher Q&A!
