Let’s get to know Fancy Tiger Crafts
Welcome to the fourth in our new series of Q&As with independent sewing pattern companies! This week we’ll be getting to know Fancy Tiger Crafts. Jaime and Amber are the team behind this amazing shop in Denver and they just released their first paper pattern – The Sailor Top – which we’re struggling to keep in stock!
Describe the style of your garments in three words:
classic, charming, wearable
Tell us about the woman you design for:
She want to be comfortable while looking stylish and showing off her crafty skills.
What body shapes work best with your patterns?
The Sailor Top is a forgiving style that we’ve found to look good on all sorts of sizes and body types. It looks great over both skinny jeans or flared jeans and it even looks cute tucked into a skirt.
What should home dressmakers know about using your patterns?
The Sailor Top is offered as an online class via Creativebug for those looking for a complete step-by-step video tutorial. The pattern itself includes illustrated images for all the steps and we have some great tips for the gathering of the neckline (the most intimidating part to most people). The raglan sleeves are a cinch to sew and there are facing pieces for the sleeves and neck so you don’t have to work with bias tape at all
Tell us about yourselves!
Fancy Tiger Crafts is a retail shop in Denver Colorado that sells fabric, yarn, fiber and embroidery supplies. We love making tons of things and we love many crafts so we couldn’t open a store that didn’t encompass all of our passions. We love providing people with inspiration to get crafting – if they need help or guidance, we love to provide that as well. We believe that when people craft, it makes them happy – the world is a better place when people make things by hand.
