Little stone flowers dress

This adorable dress is a sweet pairing of the Little StoneFlowers print from Umbrella Prints and the Family Reunion Dress from Oliver + S. As I write this the weather in London is a practically balmy 9 degrees, so I feel well within my rights to write about spring dresses!

Umbrella Prints is a cool independent Australian textile house run by Amy Prior and Carly Schwerdt. RockGarden is the pair’s second quilting cotton collection and features three prints – StoneFlowers, Little StoneFlowers and RockDots. This company started out creating hand-screenprinted designs on organic hemp-blend basecloth and now brings that same aesthetic to quilting-weight cotton! I am crazy about these prints and I thought that I’d show you how lovely one could be in a little girl’s dress because it’s sweet and playful without being girly girl. Yay for that!

The Family Reunion Dress has always been one of my favourites from Oliver + S, but this is the first time I’ve actually sewn one of their patterns. Charming and classic, it’s full of details but yet still fairly simply to stitch up. If you have a little girl, you’re going to want to make a closet full of these!

If you’d like to make this very same dress, you can find a kit for it in the shop.
