You guys have been clammering for Euclid and it’s no wonder…this fabric is gorgeous! Euclid is a special six-piece collection by Carolyn Friedlander overprinted on to Robert Kaufman’s Essex – a dreamy linen/cotton-blend that is perfect for any task at hand–from garments, to bags and accessories, to quilts.
In designing Euclid, Carolyn considered how each design and colour could satisfy projects in a wide range of genres and pair well with other fabrics. The result is a hardworking collection or prints with colour pairings that are both beautiful on their own or in supporting roles. Her incredible lookbook is filled with ideas and inspiration for using this collection in every possible way!
We are thrilled – thrilled! – that Colette Patterns is returning to vintage-inspired patterns with interesting design lines, feminine fit and pretty details and are therefore delighted with the new Rue Dress!
As summer turns to fall, one day can be sunny and warm, and the next cool and dreary. Your sewing plans have to change with the weather and Rue offers two versions with pieces that can be easily mixed and matched to create the perfect dress. The bodice has flattering, curved style lines that start at the side seams and meet at centre front. The bust tucks can be easily adjusted to fit your shape. Add piping in the curved seams for a subtle detail, or colour block the side panels for an eye-catching display. With two skirt and sleeve options to choose from, you can truly create a garment that you feel most comfortable in. Find Rue in the shop here.
Thicket is the absolutely adorable debut collection by Gingiber (Stacie Bloomfield) for Moda. We don’t often go wild for cut-and-sew-panel type prints, but these are irresistable! Our favourite animals in Ginger’s sketchy, graphic, whimsical style, just waiting to be turned into cuddly toys, tote bags, cushions, and feature quilt blocks. There are so many fun things you could do with these critters! Find them in the shop here.
We just love the super sweet vintagey hand-drawn Christmas illustrations from Pixie Noel by Tasha Noel! Bunnies kissing under the mistletoe, stocking caps and long johns, delicate poinsettias…these darling images are just right for children’s Christmas quilts, stockings and more! Find Pixie Noel in the shop here.
We’re thrilled to welcome needlefelting rock star Gretel Parker to our class schedule! Needlefelting is the simple art of hand-sculpting objects with wool roving by stabbing it with a barbed needle. You can make almost anything with needle felting – the only limit is your imagination! In this class, our expert teacher will guide us through the equipment and techniques involved with needle felting while teaching us how to make a delightful little felt fox. This class is Saturday, 1 October, 10:30am – 5pm at our West Hampstead shop and you can sign up here.
