Freehand Machine Embroidery with Sophia Palmer
Saturday 14 April, 10.30am – 1.15pm or 2.30pm – 5.15pm (£40)
Do you want to learn a completely new and unique way of using your sewing machine? This workshop will give you a new expressive way to decorate and create. Mixing free motion thread sketching with fabric appliqué to create totally individual pieces of art! Introduction to Bookbinding with Joe Dixon
Tuesday, 27 March, 7pm – 9pm (£45)
This two-hour class will introduce students to the basic skills involved in creating single signature books. The course is aimed at beginners and will involve students making their own books; undertaking sewing, cutting and gluing all materials. You will learn everything you will need to get going on this fascinating pastime. All tools and materials are included and you’ll have a variety of paper to choose from. Introduction to Linocut Printing with Kate Guy
Tuesday, 20 March, 7pm – 9pm (£45)
In this fun two hour workshop you’ll learn the principles of relief printing and create your own linocut print! You will design, cut and print a small lino block. Depending on your pace, you will also have the opportunity to experiment with adding colour through collage and/or gradient roller technique. Rag Rugging for Beginners with Elspeth Jackson
Sunday, 18 March, 10am – 4pm (£75)
Learn to turn old rags into upcycled homeware with the beautiful craft of rag rugging! Our beginners’ workshop is designed to give you all the skills you need to be able to start any rag rug project for yourself at home. With plenty of help from our expert instructor throughout the day, you will learn how to use rag rug equipment, how to work with hessian, how to choose and prepare materials, how to design for rag rug, how to do the two different types of rag rugging (loopy and shaggy) and how to finish your work. During the session you will get the opportunity to begin a rug, cushion or smaller project (depending on how ambitious you’re feeling!). Sew a Rope Bowl with Sarah Jeffrey
Tuesday 13 March, 7pm – 9pm (£40)
Sarah Jeffrey creates beautiful rope bowls for her brand Haar East and now you can learn to make them too! In this fun class you’ll learn how to sew a rope bowl on a home sewing machine, picking up tips on how to manipulate the rope into different shapes and how to use thread colours to create different results. Modern Macrame Wall Hanging with Zoe Bateman
Tuesday, 24 April, 7pm – 9:30pm (£45)
Macrame is a form of textile-making that uses knots rather than weaving or knitting. In this class you’ll learn macrame basics, including how to get started, the three most common macrame knots that are the basis for most macrame designs, how to use knots to create a pattern and how to customise or design your own pattern for future projects. Crochet Basket Workshop with Rachel Rogers

Learn to crochet while creating a fun and endlessly useful crochet basket out of recycled t-shirt yarn! Embroidery for Beginners with Carina Envoldsen-Harris

This class is a fun and colourful introduction to hand embroidery that is designed for beginners or those who want a refresher. You will start by learning the tools of the craft, how to use a hoop and how to transfer a pattern. Next, we’ll explore a selection of stitches – running stitch, back stitch, stem stitch, French knots and more – by creating a modern sampler designed by Carina. Beginners Shibori: Stitching and Binding with Rob Jones
