Join experienced Free Motion Quilter Trudi Wood in a hands on class to learn (or build on your) free motion quilting skills. Focussing on technique, this class will show you how to set yourself up for success by sharing tips and simple designs which will enable you to finish a project without unpicking or throwing it out of the window!
Box-Making Workshop with Jody Scott

Learn how to make a fabric-covered box in this fun workshop! From choosing your fabrics to finishing your box, this project never ceases to be satisfying and surprising. Introduction to Foundation Piecing with Charlotte Newland
One evening: Thursday, 8 October, 2015, 6:30pm – 9:30pm – £45
Foundation piecing is an addictive patchwork technique that enables you to sew intricate shapes accurately and achieve precise points perfectly! In this class our experienced instructor will guide you through the process of creating two different quilt blocks using foundation piecing. You’ll leave with the know-how to tackle any foundation piecing pattern and two beautiful finished blocks that you’ll be able to turn into cushions, tote bags or the basis for an entire quilt!
Sew a Marianne Dress with Zoe Edwards
One day: Saturday, 10 October, 10:30am – 4:30pm – £95
The Marianne Dress is a casual knit dress with a figure skimming silhouette, above the knee length and kimono cap sleeves. A Peter Pan collar, colour-block and sleeve options make this dress fun to customise! This class is a great introduction to sewing with knit fabrics on a regular sewing machine.
Beginning Machine Sewing for Kids with Charlotte Newland
One afternoon: Sunday, 11 October, 2pm – 4:30pm – £40
A perfect class for learning how to use a sewing machine! Students will learn how to choose fabric for a project, set up and thread a machine, cut and prepare fabric for sewing and basic construction techniques whilst making a cute elastic waist skirt. All materials included.
Star Block of the Month: Double Star with Charlotte Newland
One evening: Monday, 12 October, 6:30pm – 9pm – £40
Each month Charlotte is teaching a new block as part of our 2015 Star Block of the Month project! Take one class or take them all – each block is a version of a star and together the blocks make up a 64″ x 82″ quilt top. Every class is a great opportunity to learn something new and improve your patchwork skills! The block we will learn in October is the Double Star.
Quilted and Bound Cushion with Judith Dahmen
One day: Saturday, 17 October, 10am – 4pm – £75
In this class you’ll learn the steps to making a patchwork quilt by sewing a quilted cushion! Participants will learn how to use a rotary cutter, how to machine piece patchwork pieces together using a ¼ inch foot on a sewing machine, how to machine quilt the front of the cushion, how to sew a zip and finally how to attach binding. In short almost everything required to start making quilts!
Introduction to Zips with Charlotte Newland
One evening: Thursday, 22 October, 6:30pm – 9:30pm – £45
In this class we’ll take the fear out of sewing zips by making two handy zippered pouches. One will be a simple, small flat pouch and one will be a bigger flat bottom pouch. In under three hours you’ll be sewing zips like a pro and addicted to making pouches!
Learn to Make a Christmas Quilt Block with Judith Dahmen

Dec the halls with a cosy winter-themed quilt this year! In this four-hour class you’ll learn to make a festive Christmas-tree inspired quilt block that you can turn into a full quilt or festive cushion.
Crochet Workshop with Elisalex de Castro Peake
One evening: Wednesday, 28 October, 7pm – 9pm – £35
Learn the addictive art of crochet with the guidance of our experienced instructor! and it is suitable for beginners or students who want to brush up on their skills. We’ll have a fun, beginner friendly project to get beginners started and more experienced students are welcome to bring a project they’d like help on.
After School Sewing Club with Caroline Garcia
Weekly: Thursdays, 4:30pm – 5:30pm – £10 per class
This class is designed to introduce children to the fun and excitement of sewing! Students will meet after school on Thursdays to learn the basics of hand-sewing by completing simple projects such as felt soft toys and embroidery. Please sign up at least 24 hours in advance!
