Our Christmas 2014 window display
It’s hard to believe it’s Christmas! Wow, this year’s gone by fast. This past weekend we celebrated our second anniversary in our West Hampstead shop space and on Sunday afternoon is was absolutely rammed. Exhausting and fun. Thank you all for making this event and these past few years such a success! Our Christmas window is our anniversary window, and you can see our previous displays here and here.
Before I launch into the lovely samples, please note that (as you can see in the sign), Santa is coming to The Village Haberdashery on 22 December! Read more details here. We are also going to be having an all-day ornament sewing workshop for kids on the 23rd and you can read more details about that here or sign up here. Lots of fun stuff happening between now and The Big Day! And every day in the shop we’re playing Christmas tunes and just generally feeling jolly. So pop in, see our new window and say hi!
The quilt in the window is called Winter Brights and it’s by Judith Dahmen. She designed it for Issue 14 of Love Patchwork and Quilting and taught a wonderful class on it recently in the shop. You can read more about it on Judith’s blog and I believe you can still buy the magazine if you’d like to make one of your own.
Both of the little girl outfits were sewn by Charlotte Newland. Our first little lady is wearing the Oliver + S Lunch Box Tee and Culottes. The tee is in organic Interlock Stripes in Wind Chime and White and the culottes are in Robert Kaufman Corduroy 21 Wale in Lipstick. I think the proportions of this set is just darling and the combination of fabrics is so fun. She also has a felt ball necklace.
Our second little lady is wearing a very festive Christmas dress! This is the Oliver + S Carousel Dress in Sweater in Red from Funky Monkey by Erin Michael for Moda. This fabric looks like a knitted jumper! The pockets and trim are in Many Mini Gnomes in Blue from Candy Claus by Michael Miller.
Our lady is wearing the Deer and Doe Sureau Dress in Robert Kaufman Essex Yarn Dyed in Black. Zoe Edwards made this dress and she’s teaching a class on the pattern in January. I’m a big fan of this pattern. She’s wearing my pop of colour cowl around her neck, made with Manos Wool Classica and Pixie Dust Mini.
This year I decked our tree out in fabric scraps! I’ll leave you with a close up.
