Our plum purple shop window display!
We have a new window display at our West Hampstead shop and the warm purple-plum-lavender-magenta colour scheme just makes me so happy!
We posted a quick pic of the window on our Instagram feed yesterday and you guys went bonkers wild for this quilt, so we’ll start there! This quilt was designed by Emmajane McNulty of Stitch and Pieces using Kona Cotton Solids from the shop. We’ll be offering Emmajane’s free pattern and tutorial for this bed-size quilt on The Daily Stitch next week, so get excited and watch this space.
We planned our garments around Emmajane’s quilt, which gave us a chance to play with shades of pink and purple! All of our garments were sewn by Zoe Edwards, our teacher and blogger at So, Zo…What do you Know?
In keeping with the colour scheme and arrow theme, we chose Traffic in Cherry from Anna Maria Horner‘s woven Loominous collection. The pattern is the Pearl Shift Dress from Green Bee patterns (back in stock soon!) Zoe will be teaching a class on this pattern in April!
Our littlest lady is wearing an Oliver + S Hide and Seek tunic. The main fabric is Fairy Rings in Lavender from The Lovely Hunt by Lizzy House. You can’t see, but this fabric has tiny silver metallic dots! The fabric used in the insert is Illuminated Graph in Metallic Plum, also from Loominous. I had every intention of embroidering this piece of fabric (like I did here) but when Zoe sent it back it was so neat on the inside that I abandoned the idea. But you could totally embroider this fabric and you should. It’s crying for it! The shorts are from the Anya Tunic and Shorts by Green Bee Patterns, sewn by Charlotte Newland, first seen here and then here (only after looking at these pics did I realise the shorts are meant for the larger kiddo dress form!)
Whew, there we go! What do you think? Will you make anything you see?
