Playtime shop window display
Welcome to our new shop window! We combined samples from three of our teachers for a truly cheerful and colourful display. Please do drop by our West Hampstead shop and see these lovely samples for yourself!
The quilt in the window is by Judith Dahmen and it’s her Girls at Play quilt. This quilt uses the Playtime quilt pattern, a variation on the traditional rolling stone block that features rectangles, squares and a block-in-a-block. Judith will be teaching a five-week class on this quilt starting on 3 February and there are still places left as of the writing of this post!
The woman’s dress in our window this month is the Dolores Batwing Top/Tunic/Dress. The pattern was designed by and the dress was sewn by Zoe Edwards, who will be teaching a class on this pattern on 1 March. Available as a PDF from Zoe’s website, the Dolores is a great pattern for sewers who are new to knit fabrics, as well as those who are new to sewing in general. The fabric is from Zoe’s stash.
Our two little children’s outfits were sewn by Charlotte Newland using fabric from the Origami Oasis collection by Tamara Kate for Michael Miller. Aren’t these outfits to die for? The little boy is wearing the Oliver + S Sketchbook Shirt in Show Your Colours in Blue and a pair of Oliver + S Sketchbook Shorts that I made way back when using Kona Straw. Yay! New outfit for Harvey this summer…
The little girl is wearing the Oliver + S Fairy Tale Dress in Pride in Candy with a Kona Peacock collar. I’m so thrilled we could finally sew this dress for our window because we now stock the tulle the pattern calls for!
