Stock update – collections and products you might have missed!
I know that even my most loyal customers don’t always have time to read the newsletter and you might not be aware of all of the gorgeous new products we’ve got on our shelves! Like did you know we now stock Aurifil? Well, we do! In the future, I’ll try to get better at sharing our news across all of our communications channels so you can get your updates when and where you want them.
In the meantime, let’s have a little recap, shall we? Here are the highlights from the last month or so of newsletters:
We are now stocking our first collection from Art Gallery – the stunning Rhapsodia! Rhapsodia was designed by Art Gallery’s in house design team with a dream voyage in mind. Its rich colours, beautiful textures and Art Gallery’s gorgeous hand and drape combine to make this collection a true pleasure to sew and quilt with. We have the full line in stock here.
We are thrilled that at long last Summersville has finally arrived. Summersville is the debut collection for Moda by British screen printer Lucie Summers. Lucie hand draws all of her beautiful, modern designs and this collection is inspired by textures and shapes found in the countryside where she lives and her ever-growing vintage thrift store ceramic collection. You can find it in the shop here.
Happy Drawing is a playful, charming collection from Cloud9 based on some of the iconic images from Ed Emberley’s first how-to-draw book, Ed Emberley’s Drawing Book of Animals, originally published in 1970 and still in print today. Using letters, numbers, shapes and things, this book teaches us that anyone can draw. It has captured the hearts of many generations, just as this collection surely will! Printed on organic cotton, Happy Drawing is just right for sewers of any age. You can find it in the shop here.
Lizzy wrote on her blog: “I’m pretty much head over heels for Hello Pilgrim. I think my knees get a little weak, and I definitely get butterflies. I just can’t help it, it really does something to me… more than any other collection to date.” Our knees get a little weak too, Lizzy! You can find Hello Pilgrim in the shop here.
Flock is is the new 70’s-style collection by Thomas Knauer with the fabulous backstory – it’s inspired by the episode of The Brady Bunch where Greg gets to make over dad’s den into his bedroom! We’ve handpicked a fun, funky bundle of fabrics from the blue colourway that are perfect for quilts and home accessories. Find it in the shop here.
We couldn’t resist these bright, cheerful bundles of Lecien Dot fat quarters at Quilt Market and have divvied them up into three delightful bundles. Perfect for, bunting, children’s playmats, softies, accessories and happy quilts – or just add to your stash for the next rainy day! You can find them in the shop here.
This month, Maddie’s Kona bundle has a Jubilee-theme! In addition to patriotic red, white and blue, Maddie has added the green and gold from the Windsor Coat of Arms. The bundle contains five fat quarters (Windsor, Red, Snow, Kelly and Curry) for £8 and you can find it in the shop here.
Quilters this one is for you – we now stock Aurifil thread! Aurifil is an Italian company that has been rapidly gathering a cult following for its superior quality cotton thread. We chose 50wt for its versatility: it’s ideal for hand and machine piecing, applique, machine and longarm quilting and machine embroidery and lace. Shop our range here.
Nothing says summer like shirred sundresses! Easy, breezy summer dresses are quick to make so long as you have elastic thread close to hand. Along with white and black we have seven pretty colours now in stock in the shop.
Contemporary needlepoint kits by UK designer Emily Peacock contain everything you need to complete the design: Zweigart canvas, Appleton Brothers wools, needle, printed colour charts and full instructions. Emily’s goal is to change the way people think about cross stitch and needlepoint and her kits do just that. Relax and indulge your creativity while making something beautiful for your home! Find them in the shop here.
To say we are thrilled that the Cambie Dress pattern from Sewaholic has arrived would be a serious understatement! Tasia has outdone herself yet again with this adorable, feminine dress. With a sweetheart neckline, flattering, built-in cap sleeves and the option of a full or A-line skirt (both have pockets!) the Cambie is perfect for every occasion, from work to weekends. Find it in the shop here.
If you have a hip youngster to sew for, you’ll be delighted by the three new summer patterns that arrived from Figgy’s! For girls, the Scirroco dress has a modern twisted back bodice and adorable tiered flounces, and the Zephyr is a playful romper and sundress pattern that uses a combination of knit and woven fabrics. Both boys and girls will love the Banyan, which includes pleated flat front trousers with trendy tapered, fold up legs, cute shorts and a simple tee or slim girls’ handkerchief hem tee or tunic.
