Storyboek and hexagons

I started another quilt this weekend! No I’m not finished with the star quilt shhhh! I love the new Storyboek collection from Birch and thought it would be perfect for a baby quilt. Yellow and grey have become one of my favourite colour combinations – I think I noticed it first on Made because Dana uses it a lot. The fabric is incredibly soft and 100% organic.
I decided to make a hexagon quilt inspired by the Honeycomb Hexagon in Fresh Quilting. It’s going to be buggy size. Between the colours and the shape I think it will be a perfect modern baby quilt. I just love way it’s looking so far.
Yesterday I did everything for the top except the hard part – getting those strips of hexagons to match up. Gah! It is not as easy as it looks in the book. Anyone have any tips?
