The Thurlow Trousers and Shorts from Sewaholic!
When Tasia sends out her emails to stockists with a preview of a new pattern, I get soooooooooo excited! Last time with the Cambie Dress, I immediately spilled the beans and posted a picture on Facebook! (the email didn’t say not to!!) But this time I was well-behaved and waited until she properly announced…the Thurlow Trousers and Shorts!
The Thurlow Trousers pattern is Tasia’s seventh from Sewaholic Patterns and it was designed in response to fan demand for a trouser pattern. It’s the first trouser pattern designed for curvy hips, fuller thighs and a narrow waist.
The Thurlow Trousers sit below the waistline with flat front pockets and back welt pockets and a slightly flared leg. Included in the pattern is a cute pair of cuffed shorts, too! You can wear them cuffed or un-cuffed, and the grosgrain ribbon belt is optional.
According to Tasia, the best part of this pattern is the centre back extension. Ever looked inside a pair of men’s suit pants? They have extra-wide seam allowances at the centre back so the pants are easily altered for a custom-fit at the waist. You’ll be able to try on your pants when they’re partially sewn, and fit them to your body!
We’ve put the Thurlow Trousers in the shop here. They should arrive in the next two weeks and you can sign up for an email alert on the page (a new feature you’ll hear more about soon!) to know exactly when they come in stock on the site.
