Two Truths and a Lie with Carolyn Friedlander – the big reveal!
Yesterday we posted three statements about Carolyn Friedlander and asked you to guess which one was a lie. Here are the correct answers!
1. I really like to mow the yard. (Annie’s note: yard = garden, for those not fluent in American)
This is true and a recent new hobby. I now have a yard that needs mowing, and my 90-year-old Grandmother–who LOVES to mow–gave me lessons last summer. Between her enthusiasm and my love of anything with strategy and pattern involved, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to me that I like it so much, but it still kind of is. The only thing that I don’t like about it is that I managed to see at least one snake every time I mowed this past summer! Snakes, I am not a fan of.
2. I am a sucker for a good cardboard box.
This is true. I don’t know what it is about cardboard that gets me so excited, but if I happen upon a box with just the right thickness, ply or unfolded surface area, I’m a happy lady. I find all kinds of uses for them, and have tons of ideas stored away for the future as well. At the moment, I’m trying to justify keeping this massive cardboard box that I recently procured, because it’s taking up precious floor space in my living room…
3. I collect thimbles.
This isn’t true, although I probably should because I can’t seem to find mine at the moment! I rarely use a thimble when appliquéing, and if I do, I’ll use the adhesive leather pads. However, I do always use a thimble when hand quilting, and at the moment, I can’t seem to find mine. It seems that between all of my recent travels, I’ve kind of misplaced it. We’ll see if I can find it before my next bout of hand quilting!
Out of 64 entries we had 24 correct guesses!
The 7th correct guess was…Maureen! Congratulations Maureen, you’ve won this bundle of Doe!
Thanks for playing, Carolyn!
