Two Truths and a Lie with Eloise Renouf – the big reveal!
On Friday we posted three statements about Eloise Renouf and asked you to guess which one is a lie. Here they are again, with the answers!
1. Despite it being my “best” subject at school, I only got a grade C for Art at A-level.
True! It wasn’t what my tutor or I had hoped for (my parents thought there had been a mistake!), but it didn’t stop me getting a place at Art College or later University, and making a career out of what I still regard as my “best” subject!
2. I’m an avid collector of vintage ceramics that I find at car boot sales and charity shops. I currently own close to 100 pieces.
False! I am indeed an avid collector of vintage ceramics, but unfortunately don’t have the space (or a tolerant enough family!) for that many. I probably own about twenty really lovely things.
3. As a teenager I used to make quite a few of my own clothes. One of my favourite garments was a jacket fashioned from my Dad’s old dressing gown.
True! I think my Mum had made the original dressing gown from a curious dark green textured fabric. It was destined for the charity shop before I rescued it, chopped it about and repurposed it as a “casual blazer”. Sounds horrible (probably was!), but it didn’t stop me wearing it on more than one occasion!
Out of 68 entries we had only 10 correct guesses! The 10th correct guess was Lindsay! Congratulations, Lindsay, you’ve won this lovely bundle of First Light!
A big thank you to everyone who played!
