Patchwork and Quilting Classes with Jenny Haynes in London

Take a patchwork or quilting class in London with award winning teacher Jenny Haynes! We host classes in our sunny studio in West Hampstead, London. Our London class studio is located in our London shop, which is just steps from the West Hampstead Underground, Overground and Thameslink stations and on several bus routes. Our shop and studio are wheelchair accessible.

A Swedish exile having spent the previous 18 years in Hackney, Jenny Haynes (n̩e Nilsson) studied Pattern Cutting and Tailoring in her native Stockholm. Soon after, she followed her passion for fabrics and moved to London to study Fashion and Textiles at the London College of Fashion. She went on to develop her own label 'Papper, Sax, Sten' (that's 'Paper, Scissors, Stone' if you're wondering!), working with textiles that reflect these different influences. Jenny often mixes vintage fabrics with modern prints, rich colours with pastels, wool and silk with linen and cotton, while remaining faithful to her Scandinavian roots.

Her bespoke quilts and furnishings are recognised for their clean and simple, mid-century modern design. This was recognised in Summer '15 when Jenny was invited by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, along with 18 other Swedish designers, to be a part of Heal's Swedish Summer Exhibition. Heal's having a long history of promoting Swedish design with exhibitions in 1923, '51 and '71. Find out more about Jenny and her stunning designs at

What our students say:

"Very friendly and relaxed. Gave great advice and was very encouraging. She allowed us to be creative and have some freedom to do our own thing but provide support along the way." - Caroline

"Lovely and approachable. Also very patient! I was by far the least experienced class member and Jenny was great at answering my questions, helping when needed, and keeping me up to speed with everyone else. I found her teaching easy to understand and she gave me confidence with positive feedback and encouragement." - Amanda

"Jenny is a great combination of practical and fun. She conveys a lot of technical information in an easy-to-understand way, and makes tricky techniques accessible to everybody. A typical phrase I've heard: "I didn't know I could do that." Her positive approach and easy-going style make her classes a lot of fun." - Monika

"Jenny is the best teacher ever. I have learnt so much from her. Jenny makes the impossible curves possible. Loads of tips and inspiration. Jenny is the best." - Anne
