Buying Fabric

Our fabric is measured metrically and is sold by the quarter metre. For example, if you want to buy one metre of fabric, purchase four. Orders for more than one quarter metre will be cut continuously (as one long piece).

In general, single quantities of quilting cotton fabrics will be cut as fat quarters and dressmaking fabrics will be cut as long/skinny quarters. However there are some grey areas so on each product page you'll find info about how that fabric will be cut.

A fat quarter is a nearly square cut - typically about 50cm x 55cm depending on the width of the fabric. If you'd prefer skinny quarters just let us know in the comments.
