Sew Saturday is an annual tradition! Celebrate and support the bricks and mortar sewing shops that are the heart of our creative community. Shops like ours! It's also a chance for us to celebrate you! So on Sew Saturday we'll be doing a few fun things to say thanks for your support of our special shop.

Swap It! (FREE but you must RSVP)

We are partnering with local fashion blogger @misskatie_styleit to host our second social event for those who love all things fashion! This is a fun chance to swap clothes you don’t want for clothes you do! Plus you'll get to spend the afternoon drinking prosecco and chatting about fashion. Christmas Crafts Kickoff Party (FREE)

Join us for our third annual Christmas Crafts Kickoff Party! We love celebrating the start of Christmas crafting the first Saturday in November. We'll be revealing our new Christmas craft supplies, hosting a free Christmas card making table, offering festive classes for just £25 each and serving up mulled wine and mince pies!
Christmas Cookie Party (FREE but RSVP)
Saturday, 30 November, 2pm - 4pm
We are teaming up with local businesses Rock Bakehouse and Bake With Maria to throw a Christmas Cookie Party! Bring your favourite festive treats - traditionally Christmas cookies, but fudge, peppermint bark, mince pies or whatever goodies your family loves to have Christmas time are just fine. You'll get to sample everyone else's treats, take some home and collect recipes of your faves to put into your baking rota! Plus you'll get to drink mulled wine, get to know your neighbours and see iced biscuit and Christmas truffle demonstrations. The event is free but you must RSVP so we can send you the full details!
Christmas Jumper Decorating Party (£12)
Saturday, 7 December, 2pm - 5pm
We are partnering with Happy Fabric to host a Christmas Jumper Decorating Party! Bring in your handmade or store-bought jumper and we'll provide everything you need to decorate it! We'll have loads of Happy Fabric iron-on vinyls that you can use to create any design you can imagine (more inspo here!) plus pom poms, trims, felt and more. Places are limited so book your spot here!
Meet Santa! (FREE)
Friday, 20 December, 10:30am - 4:30pm
We are thrilled that Santa will be coming to our shop again this year! This is a fun, free tradition for kids of all ages and their parents and it's timed with the last day of school for many local kids. Each child will have time to chat with Santa and tell him their Christmas wishes. You are welcome to take your own pictures and children will receive a small gift from Santa. We'll be serving mulled wine, hot chocolate and Christmas treats all day and we'll have a free craft table for kids to play before and after their Santa visit. This year, we won't be taking bookings so there may be a short wait when it is busy.
Sewing Morning for Freedom4Girls (FREE but you must book)
Saturday, 21 December, 10:30am - 2pm
Help end period poverty! Join a sewing workshop for Freedom4Girls and make reusable menstrual pads which will be donated to young girls and women living in Kenya. We are looking for 10 volunteers to participate. All levels are welcome to participate. Learn a new skill and join Freedom4Girls to support the movement!
Freedom4Girls is a UK-registered charity fighting period poverty. The organisation supports women and girls in both the UK and in developing countries who struggle to access safe menstrual hygiene protection by offering not just disposables, but environmentally-friendly, washable re-usables and menstrual cups. No girl or woman should suffer from period poverty or stigma associated with their periods.
