Improvisational Patchwork with Charlotte Newland

In this exciting class you'll learn improvisational concepts and techniques that will change the way you think about colour, patchwork and your own creativity! You'll break out of your comfort zone and learn to embrace random, improvisational piecing. Then you'll learn free cutting and piecing techniques, including improvisational curves and slash and insert methods. You'll leave class full of inspiration and with a new foundation for bringing your own unique style into your quilts.
About your teacher: Charlotte Newland is an accomplished dressmaker, quilter and all-round crafter. She is the winner of the Great British Sewing Bee 2016 and her quilts have received awards at QuiltCon and the Blogger's Quilt Festival. She lives in London with her husband, kids, dog, cat and sewing machines. Charlotte can be found online at charlottenewland.com
Skills needed: This class is suitable for all levels but you should know how to use a sewing machine.
Materials: Please bring two metres of contrasting quilting cotton fabric, preferably plain rather than patterned. All materials can be purchased at The Village Haberdashery and students receive a 10% discount when they purchase supplies in the shop.
