Introduction to Loom Weaving with Zoe Bateman - 16 October
Weaving is a wonderful! It doesn’t require lots of expensive tools and materials, it’s portable, and once you get into the rhythm of it it’s almost meditative.
In this beginner’s weaving class you will work on a small wooden lap loom. During the workshop you will learn all the basics, including how to warp your loom ready to weave, how to choose which yarns to use, basic weaving techniques including plain weave, rya knots and soumak weave, and of course how to finish and take your weaving off the loom.
We will also help troubleshoot some common weaving problems, and provide you with lots of tips and tricks to have you weaving like a pro in no time at all. You will make a beautiful woven wall hanging, which you will be able to customise to your own tastes, choosing from a huge selection of yarn colours and textures.
The price includes everything you need to make your wall hanging, including lots of gorgeous fibres to choose from, plus a tote bag to carry everything home in and a handy instruction booklet to refer to.
