Sew a Quilted Cushion with Judith Dahmen - 29 September
In this class you'll learn many of the steps to making a patchwork quilt by sewing a quilted cushion! Participants will learn how to use a rotary cutter, how to machine piece patchwork pieces together using a å_ inch foot on a sewing machine, how to machine quilt the front of the cushion, how to sew a zip. Students will also have the option of learning how to attach a binding. In short almost everything required to start making quilts!
About your teacher: Judith Dahmen was born into a family where handicraft was important and learned how to knit and sew clothes from her mother when she was a young teenager. Over the past years she has turned all of her free energy and time to quilting and can't understand why she hasn't done it all her life! She loves the design opportunities quilting gives her and that she is constantly able to learn new techniques to improve her work. Not to mention quilts are wonderful to snuggle under on the sofa, look fantastic on a bed and are the best presents. Judith blogs at www.needlesandlemons.com.
Skills needed: Must know how to use a sewing machine and have some sewing experience, but no prior knowledge of patchwork or quilting is necessary.
